PAWC Rules and Overview

The PAWC will consist of a grand prix of six double elimination tournaments, plus one “Wildcard Weekend” event, leading into an 8-person 2-day championship round (the PAWC finals).
You must be in Tier X to play in PAWC events.
Tournament director: Alex Wice
Admin decisions are final and made in the interest of fairness.
You can contact an admin by messaging Alex in Prismata or messaging prismataworlds on skype.
All events will be streamed on twitch.tv/lunarchstudios

Format of Grand Prix Rounds

  • Double Elimination with best-of-3 matches
  • 45sec time control in all games
  • base+8/base+9/base+10 as indicated on the schedule above
  • Finals of each Grand Prix Round will be winner’s bracket winner vs loser’s bracket winner in a single best-of-5
Drawn games are scored 0-0 and replayed.
Sign-ups for each Grand Prix round will be via a Challonge link, which will be posted on the Prismata blog (and cross-posted on the r/prismata subreddit) several days before each event.
Check-in 15 minutes before start time, on Challonge. You must check in to participate.

Championship Points Structure

Each Grand Prix event will award championship points as follows:
  • 1st: 100 points
  • 2nd: 60 points
  • 3rd: 40 points
  • 4th: 30 points
  • 5th-6th: 20 points
  • 7th-8th: 10 points
  • 9th-12th: 5 points
In addition, the winner’s bracket champion in each Grand Prix event (i.e. the person who makes it through the double-elimination phase without losing a match) will receive an extra 10 points.
At the conclusion of the 6 Grand Prix events, the top 6 players will be seeded into the PAWC Finals.
The next 6 players will be seeded into a double elimination bracket (to be played on Wildcard Weekend) with the first 2 players receiving a bye.
Ties will be broken by repeatedly not considering results of the oldest event. [If this still results in a tie, a bo1 will be announced and played on Saturday, Nov 7th.]

Prizes

GRAND PRIZE

Lunarch Studios is pleased to announce that the PAWC winner will be invited to design a new Prismata unit!

Regular

Yep, you heard it right! If you win the PAWC, we’ll invite you to submit a design for a brand new Prismata unit. It can have any cost, and it can use any of the current Prismata game mechanics supported by our engine. If you’d like, you can even suggest a name and an art idea for it. Lunarch Studios will implement your unit in Prismata, playtest it with you and other top players, finetune its balance, and ultimately release it in Prismata.

We’ll also create a commemorative custom skin of your unit in celebration of your PAWC victory.

TOP 8

All players who make it to the finals of the PAWC will receive full Luminary Tier benefits—including an invitation to our secret discussion group and “Future Server” in which unreleased Prismata units are tested.

CustomSet

BADGES

The grand prize winner, the top 8 finalists, and winners of each of the 6 grand prix rounds will all receive a commemorative equippable Prismata badge that can be used to show off your tournament success.
