A Sneak Peak at the New Prismata User Interface

One of the biggest things we’re continually working on in Prismata is the look of the game. We’re very aware of the fact that that Prismata’s current menus make the game look like it’s from 1998. The mediocre user interface (UI) was meant to be a placeholder until we got our fancy new graphics added. And ladies and gents, a major update is coming! Our devs have been hard at work creating a new UI, and it’s almost ready to be launched. The purpose of today’s post is to share a sneak preview of what it’ll look like when it goes live.

Sit back, and prepare to be amazed! (Or at the very least, maybe slightly impressed). Note that, as usual, everything you see here is a work in progress, and further changes are likely.

Let’s start off with the login page:

Exhibit A: the login panel. New, improved, and sleek. It’s everything we’re looking for in a login, and we couldn’t be happier with it.

Exhibit B: If you’ve used the options menu, you know that it was a bit lacking. Now, you can adjust the game screen in style. The new streamlined options are easier to use, and much, much better to look at.

Exhibit C: The “Game Over” screen. Isn’t it pretty? Even if you lose, you’ll be happy to look at the lovely new end game screen. The post-game stats now get their own screen as well:

Chat Box

Exhibit D: Our new chat box. Now you can talk with friends using the improved chat box, designed to make communicating between players easier and more fun. There are many new features. For example, you can follow a user by clicking their name and clicking on a popup that appears.

Please excuse the fact that some of the icons look a bit pixelated; they’re not properly mip-mapped yet, so the resizing looks a bit gritty. This will be fixed before the new UI goes live.

Exhibit E: The friends list. Our old friends list, like the rest of the UI, was somewhat inefficient and completely hideous. The new one is cleaner, neater, and, most importantly, easier to use. For example, there is a search feature for friends.

There’s a whole lot more coming. We haven’t even shown off the main menus yet. Part 2 of the new UI preview will be posted next week!

Just one last thing before we go…

We heard that you guys liked the Pirates. So we thought, why not do Ninjas too?

See you next week!
